PDF (Portable Document Format) is an electronic document format designed at Adobe Systems, Inc. to allow Postscript formatted files to be sent across the Web. Postscript files contain detailed formatting information that can be interpreted and displayed by many different kinds of computers; documents in PDF look exactly like the printed originals and contain all the page layout information, fonts, tables, pictures, equations and so on. With Adobe's free Acrobat Reader, you can read these files, search them and print them.
