An international review
journal Editors: Julien F Biebuyck and Hugo Van Aken Current Opinion in Anaesthesiology, the internationally renowned review journal, is an easy to use and up-to-date periodical designed for the busy clinician. Current Opinion in Anaesthesiology has been divided into 17 major sections for 1997. New sections for the year include, for example, 'Ethics, economics, and outcome studies' and 'Ambulatory anaesthesia' - sections that reflect the changing practices and trends within the field. The Academic Editors, Professor Julien F Biebuyck (USA) and Professor Hugo Van Aken (Germany), oversee the editorial structure and scope of the journal, and appoint the Editorial Board members and Section Editors, ensuring that it remains a high quality international publication. The additional feature of the Current World Literature provides a supplementary data set of articles published within the last year, which relate to each review topic and other topics in the review period. To celebrate the 10th year of publication in 1997, the publishers and the Editors have commissioned special anniversary editorials that cover the field for the past decade. Renowned experts have agreed to contribute to this volume and each issue for 1997 will contain the special commentaries that focus on major advances and significant findings within the past 10 years. The volume is a tribute to progress in the field, and to the world leaders in anaesthesiology who have contributed to the journal's success.
